TÜBİTAK Now Used in
Javelin Missiles
TÜBİTAK has developed detectors that are known as
the eyes of laser-guided missiles while only utilising
domestic resources. Laser detectors were first used in
the Javelin domestic missile.
Laser detectors, which previously had to be imported
by Turkey and could only be developed with advanced
technologies in a few countries worldwide, can now
be developed on a national level thanks to TÜBİTAK’s
successful research. Furthermore, these domestically
produced laser detectors, which play a crucial role in
missile technology, are equipped with more advanced
technology compared to those abroad. “Four dial-
operated” detectors are increasingly important in the
international market due to their specifications such as
high speed and accuracy, low parasitic capacity, high
necking strain, low leakage current, wide dynamic range
of operation, and high reactance.
