More than 100 national and international technology and science companies participated in the Science Festival, which started in a large area at Aksaray Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Park and Science Center. The Science Festival started with the show of helicopters called “Jandarma Çelik Kanatlar”. While them made all the participants proud with their show in the air, thousands of people from ages 7 to 70 participated. The festival, which included 200 event tents, continued with the Janissary band show after the “Jandarma Çelik Kanatlar” show, and then the official opening ceremony took place.

Making a speech at the ceremony, TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal asked young people to visit the stands during the Aksaray Science Festival.

“Our young people now say, 'I will do better.'

President Mandal, reminding that TÜBİTAK is celebrating its 60th anniversary, and said, “It is one of the institutions that touches students, young people, and our children the most. Institutions that affect their lives someone. But especially since 2018, with TEKNOFEST, a concept called before and after TEKNOFEST has emerged. Why will you say? Because before, our children were perhaps individuals. Some teams were saying 'I can do it too' before. Now he says, 'I will do better'. So, this is a change. This is a transformation. That's why we have young people who we call the TEKNOFEST generation or the T generation, who say not only today, but also 'If my elders, brothers, teachers, scientists have done it, I will do it better'.”

Stating that science festivals have spread with TEKNOFEST since 2018, Mandal said: "Especially with TEKNOFEST, our youth and human resources showed what they can do. Recently, we have seen what we can do, especially defense industry products, with UAVs, our electric car, our İMECE satellite and We showed it with many examples like this and said, 'We can do all of these.' "Such festivals are needed to make all of these better."

"As TÜBİTAK, we will spread science festivals to all our cities."

Stating that Aksaray is the third city where a science festival was held, Mandal continued: "Science festivals are held in Konya, Antalya and Aksaray. As TÜBİTAK, we will soon spread this to all our cities. Aksaray is one of the cities that show that such festivals can be held in Anatolia as well." "I congratulate Mayor Evren Dinçer for hosting the Science Center and Science Festival event. I would like young people to visit the stands during the festival."

Prof. Dr. Mandal said, “TÜBİTAK provides service with 15 stands and 52 tents. We invite young people to the stands not only to watch but also to practice. Young people, ask your questions whatever comes to your mind. Leaving the festival there should be no questions left in your mind. If we want to build the future, you young people are the ones who will do it. "I hope that the number of visitors to our festival will reach much greater numbers and I wish it to be beneficial,"

Aksaray Governor Mehmet Ali Kumbuzoğlu said that science and technology projects empower young people and that they experience the excitement of the festival together. Stating that science events have positive effects on young people, Kumbuzoğlu said, "Science festivals are organized for young people. It really impressed me that Aksaray is one of the 3 cities where science festivals are held. Under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, industry, technology and science activities have spread throughout the country. Events for young people "I want them to look at the tents not just by looking at them, but by taking them into their hearts. I would like to thank those who contributed to the festival."
