Thermal Battery
TÜBİTAK has developed technologies for thermal
batteries, which are being used as the primary power
source in modern smart munitions like guidance tail kits
and missiles as well as fuzes, and acoustic jammers/
emulators.
The thermal battery technology is strictly confidential
and its international trade is subjected to the Missile
Technology Control Regime. With the efforts of
TÜBİTAK, Turkey has become one of the limited
number of countries to indigenously develop thermal
battery technology.
TÜBİTAK, being the sole national thermal battery
supplier in Turkey, has designed and manufactured
more than 10 different thermal battery types qualified
with respect to globally accepted military standards.
