Türkiye’s Success in COST Participation Statistics Continued

The European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) Association mainly focuses on the inclusion of researchers from COST member countries in international science and technology networks called COST Actions. As COST does not provide research support, it makes significant contributions to scientists' integration to international project groups with its network opportunities. COST has 41 members and Türkiye is among the founding members.

In line with the participation statistics presented by the COST Association, Türkiye continued its efficiency in COST Programme through participating in 99% of all COST Actions operated in 2023. Managing to be the country with the highest number of Working Group members by far with 7,096; Türkiye also became the 3^rd country in individual participation to networking activities with 1,849 participants. With approximately 2.27 Million Euros allocated in 2023, Türkiye managed to become the 3^rd country with the most budget transferred among the 41 COST member countries. Türkiye also demonstrated a very successful performance in terms of gender equality and the participation of young researchers. Accomplishing a data well above the COST average in the participation of young researchers in COST Actions, Türkiye has reached a rate of %46,8 participants. Türkiye also maintained its stability in the participation of women researchers by achieving a participation rate of 54.4%.
