With the completion of the recent pilot study, Smart ID
Cards are about to become part of our daily lives. With the
aim of assisting in many spheres of life, such as social
security, health, transportation, civil registration, and
banking transactions, Smart ID Cards have been designed
by TÜBİTAK BİLGEM (Centre of Research for Advanced
Technologies of Informatics and Information Security)
using national software and a domestic chip. Distribution of
the card is to start in 2013.
