AScientific Look at Nature
The Nature Festival, aiming to bring participants of all
ages together with nature, was organised at the İstanbul
Nezahat Gökyiğit Botanical Garden by the Science and
Society Programmes Department of TÜBİTAK.
As part of the festival, many activities, such as garden
tours for the purpose of introducing the world of
plants, bird watching, origami, percussion, and
art workshops were conducted. Presentations of
interesting plants, seed cultivation, and paper-making
workshops were organised in order to increase the
information about and attention to biological diversity
as well as to encourage scientific thinking skills.
In this festival that appealed to people of all ages,
different activities for adults related to the world of
plants were also included, namely balcony vegetable
cultivation, plant identification workshops, and
discussions about nature.
