The 2014 Sky Almanac, prepared by the TÜBİTAK Popular Science Magazines and the National Observatory, is a free gift with the January issue of the science magazine “Bilim ve Teknik”.

The 2014 edition of the Sky Almanac, which is prepared by TÜBİTAK every year, has been published. As an accompaniment to the January issue of “Bilim ve Teknik”, with a cover story on “Robot Bees for the Future of Plants”, the almanac gives detailed information about the astronomical events to take place in 2014.

According to the Sky Almanac, two lunar eclipses and two solar eclipses will occur in 2014. However, these eclipses will not be visible from Turkey. Both of the lunar eclipses, in April and October, will be total eclipses. The solar eclipse in April will be viewed as an annular eclipse and the one in October as a partial eclipse.

Meteor showers will be observed in January, April, May, July, August, October, November, and December.
