SusAn, FACCE ERA-GAS, ICT-AGRI-FOOD and SusCrop Joint Call Opened

SusAn (Sustainable Animal Production Systems), FACCE ERA-GAS (Monitoring & Mitigation of Greenhouse Gases from Agri- and Silvi-culture), ICT-AGRI-FOOD (ICT-enabled agri-food systems) and SusCrop (Sustainable Crop Production) which are Era-Net Cofund projects supported under the Horizon 2020 Program, have planned a joint call.

The main theme of this call is circularity in agricultural systems. The circular farming system integrates crop production, animal production and soil, which are the cornerstones of sustainable agricultural production. In this context, the scope of the call is given below.

Call Scope:

Project proposals should include all 4 items presented below.

Project proposals;

a) It should focus on mixed planting-livestock systems. These systems can be realized within a single farm or by linking separate agricultural and livestock farms.

b) Address the issue of monitoring and / or reduction of greenhouse gases from agriculture or agroforestry.

c) It should contain an Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) dimension. For example; sensors, communication technologies, data analytics, modeling, robotics, precision agriculture or the use of decision support systems, etc.

d) It should adopt a systems approach. The circular economy approach towards mixed planting-livestock systems should have synergy and complementarity with other sectors such as environmental protection and economy.

The international consortium that will present the project must consist of three different partners, who will be funded from at least three different EU member or associate member countries participating in the call. Each partner will be supported by their country's funding agency. In the joint project proposals to be prepared within the scope of the call, there is an obligation to comply with both the international call application conditions and the national rules and conditions of the partner countries.

Turkish researchers who want to submit a project to the call must apply to both the international call office (https://www.suscrop.eu/2021-joint-call) and TUBITAK. National project applications can only be made using electronic signature (e-signature) via the Project Application System (https://uidb-pbs.tubitak.gov.tr) Project proposals to be submitted from Turkey within the scope of the aforementioned call will be supported within the scope of the Support Program for Increasing the Capacity to Benefit from TUBITAK 1071 International Research Funds and Participation in International R&D Cooperation
