International Programmes



All applications must be submitted electronically via TÜBİTAK scholarship application portal, which can be reached at All accompanying required documents must also be uploaded electronically. In order to complete application process, applicants must approve their applications until 17.30 p.m. on the application deadline.

Applications not fulfilling any eligibility criteria, lacking any of the required documents will not be processed.

Application Dates

Applications will be accepted twice a year. Application deadlines for 2014 are:

I. Period : 05 March 2018 - 06 April 2018    
II. Period : 03 September 2018 - 05 October 2018


Scope of the Support

Maximum duration for the fellowship is 12 months.

  • A monthly stipend of 2,500 Turkish Liras.
  • Travel costs (round trip up to 2,250 TL) and Health insurance premiums (up to 2,250 TL) *. In case of approval of TÜBİTAK Department of Science Fellowships and Grant Programs (BİDEB) Group Executive Committee, travel costs and health insurance for the fellow may be partially covered.

*All fellows should send the receipts of their travel and insurance expenses for the reimbursement via mail and post to TÜBİTAK.

2216 - Research Fellowship Programme for International Researchers

The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) grants fellowships for international highly qualified PhD students and young post-doctoral researchers to pursue their research in Turkey in the fields of Natural Sciences, Engineering and Technological Sciences, Medical Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities.

2221 - Fellowships for Visiting Scientists and Scientists on Sabbatical Leave

In order to contribute to the improvement of human resources and the research in Natural Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Medical Sciences, Social Sciences and  Humanities (*) at public or private institutions, the eminent scientists working at universities or research centre abroad are  supported to visit to turkey by seminars, conferences, lectures, research and technological innovation. Applications should be made by the host scientist / institution.

2236 - Co-Funded Brain Circulation Scheme (Co-Circulation Scheme)

The Co-Circulation Scheme, partially supported by the EC-FP7 Marie Curie Actions-People-COFUND and coordinated by BİDEB, aims at increasing and facilitating the international mobility of scientists. The scheme offering for incoming mobility of 100 Turkish and foreign experienced researchers for periods of 20-24 months (the 4th and last call will be 12 months) provides both research and employment opportunities in academic or industrial institutions established in Turkey.
