The Ambassador of Burundi Visited TÜBİTAK

On June 18, 2018, the Ambassador of the Republic of Burundi H.E. Joel Nkurabagaya visited TÜBİTAK in order to further the cooperation established within the framework of the Protocol signed on March 7, 2017 between TÜBİTAK and the Burundian Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research.

TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal and the Head of Bilateral and Multilateral Relations Division Alpaslan Mete Karaca attended the meeting. During the meeting, H.E. Ambassador Nkurabagaya was briefed about the roles and responsibilities of TÜBİTAK and activities which can be conducted within the scope of the protocol on cooperation. H.E Ambassador Nkurabagaya was informed about the Technology Bank established in Gebze under the leadership of the United Nations and that it would be a great pleasure to host a Joint Committee Meeting in Ankara in order to give impetus to the already established bilateral cooperation.

As a result of the meeting, the TÜBİTAK-MEHESR joint call for proposals is planned to be launched within 2018 and research and innovation projects of Turkish and Burundian researchers are planned to be supported within its framework.
