ICTurkey 2011 International Brokerage Event

ICTurkey 2011 International Brokerage Event was held in İstanbul Ceylan InterContinental Otel on September 27.

ICTurkey 2011 has been an indispensible platform for sharing information and experience on political and technical level in information and communication technologies, establishing new partnerships and cooperating international R&D programmes including Turkey. Therefore, 205 Turkish and 75 foreign researchers from 25 countries and business representatives attended to this event.

In ICTurkey 2011, which contributes to the strengthening of cooperation in R&D, welcome and keynote speeches have been delivered by Mr. Nihat Ergün, Turkish Minister of Science, Industry and Technology; Prof. Yücel Altunbaşak, President of TÜBİTAK  and European Commission, Directorate for Information Society (DG INFSO), Strategy for ICT Research and Innovation Unit, Mr. Tom Clausen.

After welcome and keynote speeches, researches were participated to parallel workshops including Key-Enabling ICT Technologies, ICT addressing Societal Challenges, ICT Research in SME Measures and ICT for Public Private Partnerships (Energy Efficient Buildings, Factories of the Future, Green Cars). In this brokerage event, project exhibition, networking and one-to-one partnering meetings opportunites were offered for Turkish researches and invited active researchers from Europe in order to foster R&D cooperation.

As well as networking opportunities, FP7 experts shared their experiences with researches about how to develop and define a winning concept and how to deliver a strong collaborative R&D project.
