On 27th November 2012, High Level Consideration Meeting of Electrical Vehicles led by the President of TÜBİTAK was held at TÜBİTAK Space Technologies Research Institute.
The main aim of the event was to receive the stakeholders’ opinion on the future steps for improving the R&D support dedicated to Electrical Vehicles and guide the first step for the constitution of the Electrical Vehicle Development Platform.
Besides the officials from the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, high-level executives of the sector’s umbrella institutions and nongovernmental organizations, academicians who have concrete studies oriented to the sector, and high level executives of industry have participated in the event.
“Electrical Vehicle Technologies” was ranked first at The High-Level Prioritization Group Meeting
The automotive sector has been identified as one of the sectors in which Turkey has strong R&D and innovation capacity through the National Science, Technology and Innovation Strategy (UBTYS) 2011-2016.
As known, the High-Level Prioritization Group Meeting of the automotive sector was held on 12th April 2012 under the coordination of TÜBİTAK with the participation of senior stakeholders concerned and consequently the priority areas of the automotive sector for the upcoming five year period were determined. Electrical Vehicle Technologies was ranked first among the identified research areas at the mentioned Meeting.
At the end of this process, calls have been opened through the “TUBITAK Priority Areas Research Technology Development and Innovation Funding Program (TÜBİTAK-1511)” for industrial R&D projects and “TUBITAK Priority Areas Research Technology Development and Innovation Funding Program (TÜBİTAK-1003)” for academic R&D projects.
